FAQ
Here are the answers to some of our most frequently asked questions.
What is DTF (Direct-to-Film) transfer printing?
DTF printing involves printing an image directly onto a special film using eco-friendly water-based inks. This film is then adhered to your garment using heat, leaving a soft, vibrant image.
What are the advantages of DTF printing compared to other methods (e.g., screen printing, heat transfer vinyl)?
DTF offers several advantages: It produces incredibly detailed images, even on complex designs. The resulting print is incredibly soft to the touch, unlike some other methods that can feel stiff or plasticky. It works well on a wide variety of fabrics and colors, and it’s generally more cost-effective for smaller runs than screen printing.
What types of materials can be printed on using DTF transfers?
DTF transfers work well on cotton, polyester, blends, and many other fabrics. They can also be applied to some other materials, but specific material compatibility should be tested. Contact us to discuss your specific material.
What is the durability of a DTF transfer?
DTF transfers are known for their durability. With proper application and care, they can withstand numerous washes and remain vibrant for an extended period. We recommend following care instructions provided with your order for optimal longevity.
Are DTF transfers suitable for dark-colored garments?
Yes! DTF transfers work exceptionally well on dark-colored garments. The white ink layer in the transfer process ensures vibrant colors pop, even on dark fabrics.
Can I use DTF transfers on curved surfaces?
Yes, DTF transfers can generally be applied to curved surfaces, but very complex curves might present challenges. For best results, avoid extremely tight curves.
What file formats do you accept for DTF printing?
We accept high-resolution files in PNG, JPG, and PDF formats.
What are the color limitations of DTF printing?
DTF printing offers a wide color gamut, allowing for vibrant and accurate color reproduction. There are virtually no color limitations.
What is your turnaround time from order placement to delivery?
Turnaround time includes production and shipping. Expect a total turnaround time of approximately 2-3 business days.
Do you offer rush order services?
Yes, we offer rush order services for an additional fee. Please contact us to discuss your needs and availability.
What design considerations should I keep in mind for DTF transfers?
Ensure your artwork has a minimum resolution of 300 DPI for optimal print quality. Use CMYK color mode for professional results. Avoid very thin lines or small details that may not reproduce well.
What happens if my artwork isn't print-ready?
If your artwork isn’t print-ready, we will contact you to discuss options. We may offer a design consultation or suggest revisions to ensure the best possible outcome.
